At all variety of methods of quality control of production, determination of density is the simply, fast and exact. It does not require a large number of a sample, it does not change component composition of mixes and does not demand additional reactants.
Density is the key parameter and for the commercial accounting of oil products. Traditionally density of oil products decides at ambient temperature by the areometer in the cylinder on a sample (GOST 3900, ASTM D1298). Then, by means of recalculating tables, the measured density is given to density at the necessary temperature. As recalculating tables are made on the basis of average data, their use for reduction of density of real oil product can give a notable error. For increase of accuracy of determination of density systems of a termostatirovaniye of a sample are used.
The most effective way of determination of density &minus - by means of electronic densitometers which operation is based on measurement of the period of own fluctuations of the hollow U-shaped tube filled with the studied liquid.
