Vibration diagnostics is the method of nondestructive control based on the analysis of a complex of parameters of vibration for definition of a condition of the equipment.
The vibrodiagnostic method is based on obtaining vibration data. Any vibration contains harmonicas of various frequencies. If to analyze amplitude of these harmonicas - it is possible to obtain information on a condition of the equipment. Vibration data are collected by means of the special probes or sensors installed on the equipment.
Vibration — the most informative and effective diagnostic signal:
- oscillatory forces arise directly in the place of emergence of defect, and the car "is transparent" for vibration;
- vibration contains the maximum volume of diagnostic information;
- it is possible to diagnose on the place, without dismantling and a stop of the equipment.
The digital method of information processing used by modern vibrodiagnostic units gives the chance to quickly receive result of measurements. In many cases, for example, when diagnosing the equipment on Railway transport, speed of obtaining information becomes an important condition of the timely prevention of emergencies which can create threat of life and to human health or material property. Using modern technologies of communication, an opportunity to create the monitoring systems allowing to obtain information from a significant amount of sensors at the same time and to quickly process it the operator is given.
Vibration diagnostics allows to reveal the most various defects of the equipment, such as imbalance, not coaxiality and not parallelism of shaft, not rigidity and weakening of support, break of anchor bolts, violation of geometry of the line of a shaft, and also various defects of bearing knots, including problems with greasing.
On the basis of the obtained information, it is possible to optimize planning of routine maintenance and overhaul repairs, to increase a between-repairs interval, to reduce costs of purchase of spare parts and expendables.
Advantage of vibration diagnostics is not only an opportunity to find the latent defects, but also to obtain information on technical condition of the concrete equipment, to make monitoring, to obtain complex information both on obvious defect - and at a stage of its origin. Among advantages of a vibrodiagnostic method, it is also possible to mention short duration of the process of diagnosing.
