Reducer (mechanical) — the mechanism transferring and a reformative torsional moment , with one or boleemekhanichesky transfers . The main characteristics of a reducer — efficiency , the transfer relation , a peredavayemayamoshchnost , the maximum angular speeds of shaft , quantity of the leading and slave shaft, type and the number of transfer of steps.
Usually a reducer call the device transforming the high angular speed of rotation of an input shaft to lower on day off to a shaft, raising at the same time a turning couple . The reducer which will transform low angular speed to higher usually is called the multiplicator . The reducer which will transform high angular speed to lower is usually called a demultiplicator .
