Raisin - the name of dried berries of grapes with stones. The name "raisin" in translation from Turkic designates "grapes".
There are 4 main kinds of raisin:
- Sultana grape (or a sabza) - small light raisin, without stones. It is made from sweet white or green grades of grapes.
- Korinka (still he is called a can or a shigana) - the general name for several types of raisin without stones, dark shades differing among themselves in different degree of sweet.
- Usual raisin - average by the sizes, light-olive raisin with one stone.
- The large kostochkovy raisin - this large and very sweet raisin contains several large stones, and receive it from grade grapes to the husayena (ladies' fingers).
Dishes meet raisin in the majority of the known kitchens of the world, but this sukhofrukt finds nabolshy application in the countries of the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. Raisin - very tasty and useful product which is used also in itself, and as a part of various dishes. It is added in bakery and confectionery, pilaf, a kolivo, also used for preparation of compotes, various drinks and meat dishes.
