The water pump of the SMD-14 engine, as well as at some other engines, represents the general knot with the fan. A pump housing (in drawing of poses. 25) with a cover (poses. 13) it is fixed on forward part of the block of cylinders by bolts. Between butt surfaces of a cover and the case laying is established (poses. 23). In the case of a pomp 14-13C2-1A the roller is placed (poses. 7), established on bearings (poses. 8) ball type. To a nave (poses. 4), the spline fixed on the roller and a nut, attached by bolts the pulley with fan blades (poses. 3, 1) receiving rotation from the engine crankshaft through a wedge-shaped belt (poses. 2). On the back end of a shaft the krylchatka is fixed (poses. 16), placed in a water cavity of a cover. Rotation of a krylchatka creates centrifugal forces which throw out water in a forcing cavity. This cavity has spiral expansion in the direction of rotation of a krylchatka that provides reduction of speed of water, but increase in its pressure. At a water exit from interbladed space of a krylchatka in her center discharge thanks to which water arrives a continuous stream from an absorption cavity here is created. In a cover (the top part) the opening for removal of air is executed from the pump when filling with water of system. In the lower part of a cover the opening for water discharge is located. For prevention of leak of water from a pump cavity there is a special consolidation. Washer (poses. 21), made of textolite, enters ledges grooves of a krylchatka, rotating together with her. Spring (poses. 17) densely presses a washer to a plug end face (poses. 24). Cuff (poses. 20) blocks access to water to space between a washer and the roller. Greasing of bearings is carried out by solid oil. For prevention of leak of greasing epiploons are installed in the case of a pomp.
