Metal hose

The flexible metal sleeve (metal hose) represents the flexible tight corrugated pipeline concluded in one or two braids and supplied with trailer fittings.

Metal hoses are intended for transportation of liquid and gaseous environments, and also for compensation of temperature and assembly deformations of rigid pipelines.

Sleeves are made standard diameters from 6 mm to 300 mm. Range of temperatures at which use of metal hoses from - 270*C to + 600*C is admissible. Depending on diameter, sleeves can be used in systems with working pressure up to 400 bars.     

Flexible part of a metal hose is made by hydraulic formation of a thin-walled corrosion-proof pipe. The power element in a metal hose design ensuring functioning under pressure is the braid which does not interfere with a bend and perceives axial and radial loadings. Depending on the size of working pressure of a sleeve are made with one or two braids of a steel wire.

Metal hoses in use work for a bend. The bend of a sleeve occurs due to elastic deformation of a profile of corrugations. At a bend the gap between the next corrugations on an internal contour decreases, and on external – increases. Work of metal hoses on twisting, stretching and compression is not allowed. At the choice of length of metal hoses it is necessary to consider that maximum deviations of length of sleeves from nominal can be no more than 3%. It is also necessary to consider that length of a sleeve includes the neutral sites about fittings which are not exposed to a bend in use.
