Cerabit (South Korea) is the registered brand of metal-cutting ceramics made since 1986 by one of the major concerns of South Korea - SsangYoug firm. The metal-cutting ceramics is the inorganic nonmetallic materials condensed by heat treatment and agglomeration. Ceramic materials in many respects win against such tool materials as firm alloys at the expense of their thermo - iznoso-and corrosion resistance.
Indisputable advantages of metal-cutting ceramics:
- possibility of high-speed processing thanks to heat resistance of the cutting plates (Vrez = 80 – 900 m/min);
- possibility of effective cutting of the hardly processed materials: the chromic chugun tempered staly, heat resisting alloys, Inconel, etc. Often use of metal-cutting ceramics is the only INEXPENSIVE and HIGHLY EFFECTIVE decision when processing of the similar hardly processed materials;
- accuracy and low roughness of the processed surfaces (result of stability of thermochemical properties and low adhesion.);
- the increased tool life cycle owing to high wear resistance.
