| Lead babbit to buy B-83 babbit in Ukraine
B-83 babbit — the alloy consisting of the following elements: Sn (83%); Sb (11%); Cu (6%) — for the bearings working at average loadings. Allowable working pressure [Pm]: 10-15 MPas.
Babbit — the antifriction alloy on the basis of tin or lead intended for use in the form of the layer which is filled in or raised dust on the bearing insert body.
The most widespread options of an alloy:
- 90% of tin, 10% of copper;
- 89% of tin, 7% of antimony, 4% of copper;
- 80% of lead, 15% of antimony, 5% of tin;
As additives can be used: antimony, copper, nickel, arsenic, cadmium, tellurium, calcium, sodium, magnesium.
Melting temperature — 300 — 440 °C.Babbit which basis is made by tin (B88, B83, B83S, SAE11, SAE12, ASTM2) is used when from antifriction material the increased viscosity and the minimum friction coefficient are required. Tin babbit in comparison with lead possesses higher corrosion resistance, wear resistance and heat conductivity.
