Knives of Tradition have the traditional form of the handle, and also a blade in the form of a yataghan, and can be used in the most various situations - from picnic before hunting. From 1980th year in the Tradition collection there are twelve sizes, 1-12. Now number 1 and 11 are not issued.
In sizes of 6-12 a blade are reliably fixed in open situation thanks to system of locking Virobloc® created by Marcel Opinel in the 1955th year.
Blades of knives of this series are made of steel with the high content of carbon. Such contents allows to reach the excellent hardness of steel after heat treatment, thereby guaranteeing excellent indicators of a cut, durability and sharpening.
At the same time at carbonaceous steel low resistance to corrosion. Therefore it is recommended to avoid damp environment, to dry and oil a blade after use. As steel does not contain chrome, sharpening of the cutting edge of a blade is much easier, than a blade from steel with the content of chrome.
