Cross-docking is a process of redistribution of freights thanks to which delivery of the order to the client happens without long storage in a warehouse.
In what feature of cross-docking?
It is possible to use cross-docking in several ways.
Loading of goods from transport in transport. For example from a container in the car or on the contrary.
Other way of use of cross-docking is a consolidation of goods from different suppliers, formation of all goods in one party which is delivered to the customer.
Even thanks to cross-docking it is possible to divide wholesale party from the producer into small parties and to deliver them in the necessary retail points.
In the presence of a customs warehouse it is possible to obtain customs clearance of goods not at once, and out of need.
It is favorable to whom to use cross-docking?
Cross-docking will be a good way of delivery for:
- the companies wholesalers which need to deliver as fast as possible goods in several retail points;
- the companies which are engaged in import in the CIS countries;
- the import companies (exporters) in the countries where delivery by the sea is necessary (the USA, Canada, China).
