Operation of furnaces on coal - dust heating on character can be equated to work on fuel oil. The main advantages of combustion of coal in the form of dust in comparison with normal combustion of bituminous coal in the form of pieces on a grid - iron grid with manual service consist in the following:
1. Coal dust the same as fuel oil or gas, is burned in working space of the furnace therefore high temperature over the heated metal promotes its faster heating. At combustion of lumpy coal the most high temperature will be in a fire chamber, i. e. is far from the heated metal.
2. At combustion of coal in the form of pieces metal in working space of the furnace heats up the hot gases received from burning of coal in a fire chamber. When heating furnaces pulverized coal metal heats up directly coal - dust torch. Metal heating in this case comes better and quicker, than from hot gases.
3. In fire chambers with a grid - iron grid at manual service very large number (to 10% ) fuels is lost together with slag. At coal - dust heating a small amount of fuel is lost with slag. It gives the chance to save the fuel consumed on metal heating.
4. At coal - dust heating of furnaces the hard work of the fireman and zolytsik is excluded. It is not necessary to bring coal to workshop and to delete ashes from workshop. It facilitates work of factory transport and exempts from blocking up by solid fuel of the area of workshop. Dust in workshop and to furnaces moves on special dust flues.
5. Temperature and the thermal mode are regulated in the furnace easily, as well as when heating the furnace by fuel oil or gas because dust is burned by means of torches with a big range of productivity.
6. Combustion of coal in the form of dust allows to use low - calorie bituminous coal which at normal combustion of coal in the form of pieces does not provide temperature necessary for heating of metal at forging.
