Calcium carbide

APPLICATION

Calcium carbide is applied to recovery of alkali metals. These chemical raw materials are applied to production and synthesizing of Acetylene, calcium cyanamide (it is applied to production of fertilizers and cyanic connections), synthetic rubber, vinyl chloride, acrylonitrile, ethylene, chlorderivative acetylene, acetone, styrene, acetic acid and artificial pitches.

RECEIVING

Calcium carbide is received at alloyage in electric furnaces at temperature of 1900-1950 °C of coke and quicklime. By sight represents solid crystal matter from light-brown till black color, after rasplavka it is created and allowed to stiffen. After hardening its crushing is made and sorting of pieces of certain sizes is made (fraction) then it zasipatsya in barrels.
